Insurance Analyst - Billing Software Full-Time | Nov 03, 2020

This role will work as part of a team to develop and support Instec's products/services relating to our billing software and our customers.  The Insurance Analyst works closely with technical/business staff regarding the implementation of base and client specific changes to our software.

Main Responsibilities:

Research and analysis of software business matters associated with billing and collections, leading to full understanding of customer issues/requests.

Working with customers to define/document requirements and designing/documenting business solutions to meet client requirements.

Completes written assessments/specifications to define programming changes needed for feature changes.

Creation/execution of test plans and cases.

Client Support including:

  • Building positive working relationships with customers
  • Providing client demos/training and day-to-day services
  • Research/resolution of issues
  • Ensure executed statements of work (SOW) are secured
  • Approve invoicing spreadsheets

Knowledge, skills/abilities, experience and education required for the job:

  • Knowledge of Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance & industry operations including billing and accounting functions such as:  invoicing, receivables, collections, audits and reconciliations
  • Knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Knowledge of cloud and other customer environments & Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Excellent customer-facing skills - handling complete customer situation independently at all levels within the organization
  • Excellent critical thinking skills and ability to apply to solving problems
  • Ability to effectively communicate/present information in written/verbal form to internal/external customers
  • Results oriented, adaptable & flexible
  • Demonstrates initiative, motivation and self-direction
  • 3+ year's experience in the insurance industry and/or in insurance-related software (industry experience in Commerical P&C billing or accounting desired)
  • Bachelor's in Accounting or Finance preferred or equivalent, applicable work experience
  • Pursuit of appropriate professional designations within the insurance industry preferred
